Guided Walk at Denso Marston Reserve - Bird Song with Andrew and Paul

Starting on a peaceful note, escape the hustle and bustle of city life with a relaxing walk down to Denso Marston Reserve in Baildon.

Here, you will join avid birdwatchers Andrew and Paul, who will guide you around the beautiful reserve for free as you are serenaded by birdsong from different species. You will also learn these birds' unique behaviours and habitats—this is the perfect activity for animal lovers and those who enjoy reconnecting with nature.

Where Will This Guided Tour Take Place?

The walk will start at Otley Road, the Public Footpath, and opposite the St James Church lay-by. Unless stated otherwise at the start of the tour, it will take around two hours.

Bradford Steam Train Gala and Easter Special 

During these four days, you will experience the rich history behind our guest locomotives, home fleets and intensive passenger service on the railways.

Train demonstrations and unique double-headed trains will also be available during these action-packed days. Tickets for one, two, three, or four days are available on the KWVR website.

The Steam Train Gala will occur from March 20th to 23rd, and the Easter Express will run from April 5th to 21st.

Cliffe Castle Museum 

We couldn't write an article about Bradford without mentioning the wide range of museums available here. One of these is the Cliffe Castle Museum, where you can travel back to sparkling Victorian rooms where glamorous parties used to be hosted.

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery 

This gallery features incredible paintings, drawings, and sculptures from the district's world-class collections.

Did you know that Bradford was one of the first UK local authority museum services to start collecting works by South Asian and Black artists? You can visit the gallery to see these works of art.

The collection includes work by the famous Lowry, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Anish Kapoor, and Bradford-born artist Andy Warhol.

Bolling Hall Museum, Bowling Park 

This year, the Bolling Hall Museum at Bowling Park is hosting an Early Years Event: the Lovely Bug Ball. (Remember to dress in your best bug costumes.)

This free and fun event is perfect for entertaining the kids. It is ideal for families and children between 0 and 5 years old.

Activities include hedgehog crafts, unique music guests, the Bradford Boar Trail, face painting and the Ladybird Entertainer.

Bradford Industrial Museum

Based in what used to be Moorside Mills in Eccleshill, the Bradford Industrial Museum was initially built in 1875 as a small worsted spinning mill. It grew and grew as it was sold multiple times over the years.

The Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers at Bradford Industrial Museum occurs every Thursday. At these events, you can learn all about the history of wheels, looms, and knitting needles - all while having fibre-y social time with creative, like-minded individuals.
