Which ticket is right for you?
There are three main categories of fares that Grand Central sell:
- Anytime - Tickets booked for any valid train
- Off-peak - Tickets booked for any valid train classed as "Off peak"
- Advance - Tickets booked for a specific train
Additionally, Super Off-peak tickets are available on other operators and sold via Grand Central.
These categories apply to single and return fares in Standard and First Class.
Our Fair Fares policy means you’ll never pay more than our usual flexible Off-Peak or Anytime rates – even if you buy on-board on the day of travel.
And our Grand Central Off-Peak and Anytime fares are flexible and refundable up to the day before travel (please see our Passenger Charter).
Sign up for ticket alerts for our cheapest Advance tickets
Want to be the first to hear about the availability of our cheapest Advance tickets? There's only a limited number of them available, and we normally release them six months before the travel date - pop your email in the box below and we'll let you know whenever tickets become available.
Peak-time restrictions lifted on Fridays
We’re lowering the cost of Friday peak travel to match our off-peak rates. You'll be able to take advantage of lower costs and quieter trains, for a more comfortable and better value journey.
Grand Central & Connections
Connecting fares are available at some stations, giving you more flexibility at a lower price.
