What's on in March?

We don’t know about you, but for us, March signifies the beginning of British springtime. The daffodils and snow drops come out in full bloom and those evenings start to stay a little lighter for longer. So, what are your plans for the month? Hopefully we will give you a bit of inspiration with some of the exciting events taking place below.

Whether you hop on a train to London Kings Cross station, a train to York or take a trip to Doncaster, there is sure to be something fun going on at a station near you.

Vegan Life Live London 2020

14^th – 15^th March
Alexandra Palace, London

If you have already invested in a vegan lifestyle or are interested to find out more about how to incorporate more plant-based foods into your diet, then take a trip to Alexandra Palace between 14^th – 15^th March. The Vegan Life Live event features over 100 pop-ups selling vegan food, drinks and even clothing, cosmetics and footwear.

You can sample plant-based pizzas, curries, pastas, kebabs and ice-creams, so make sure you arrive with an empty stomach! Plus, there will also be cookery demonstrations showing you how to create delicious vegan recipes at home for you and the family.

Take a train into either London King’s Cross or London Euston station, where you can catch a Thameslink service to Finsbury Park, before getting a connection to Alexandra Palace station.

York Literature Festival

19^th – 29^th March
York

If literature is your passion or pastime then don’t miss out on this ten-day city-wide celebration of the spoken and written word. There will be 50 events taking place in York over this period, as journalists, broadcasters, authors, poets and historians come together in the historic city.

Whether you are a fan of crime fictions, romantic novels or historical papers, there will be an event for you to attend. From literary lunches to contemporary poetry readings, head over to the Literature Festival website to book your place at the event.

Hop on a train to York train station to be at the centre of all the literary action!

UNIBET Lincoln Raceday

28^th March
Doncaster Racecourse, Doncaster

Celebrating the first official flat-turf race day of the new season, the UNIBET Lincoln Raceday at Doncaster Races will be one to remember. This is a race meeting steeped in history and forms one half of the Spring Double with the Grand National, which is held two weeks later.

The highlight of day is the Unibet Lincoln, a heritage Handicap worth £100,000 in prize money, and there will also be live music performances from Flat Cap Brass and Chasing Mumford (the official tribute band of Mumford & Sons).

Book your ticket to Doncaster train station, where you can take a bus connection direct to Doncaster Racecourse.
