National Poetry Day
Back from London
King Cross is busy, as it always will be but
I can see the orange and black___
Of the Grand Central calling at Brighouse,
Not long before I get back.
Teacups rattling, across the points.
Up North, the weathers cold.
The staff understand and pour the tea
Hot liquid gold.
Here we are at Brighouse now,
It’s the flowers that set it apart.
London’s super to visit,
But Yorkshire’s here – in my heart.
Susan Thorpe.
