Square Chapel Arts Centre
Built in 1772, Halifax’s Square Chapel is one of only a handful of square churches ever built in the UK. It was designed by 16-year-old Thomas Bradley – designer of the iconic Piece Hall, situated next door. Rescued from dereliction in the 1980s, the Square Chapel Arts Centre, which is run as a charity, now attracts almost 200,000 people per year, employing full and part-time staff. We are looking forward to working more closely with the team to ensure visitors to the region are made aware of the extraordinary creativity in the town and to strengthen links with nearby communities and stakeholders.
