Sunderland Culture

When Sunderland announced it was bidding for UK City of Culture in 2021 we were delighted to lend our support. From the work being done celebrating and strengthening the city’s arts and culture heritage by the Sunderland Music, Arts and Culture (MAC) Trust to the redevelopment of the region’s glorious old buildings, it was clear that the city had a lot to offer. We have run services from Sunderland since 2007 and, though the City of Culture bid was eventually unsuccessful, we are fully behind efforts to build on the momentum created by the campaign and to ensure visitors see the city for all it has to offer.
